If you are looking for up to date news about what I have been up to then this probably isn't the place to get it. You will find that I regularly let my site go for long periods without updates. Perhaps this is because I am too busy to make updates or possibly I haven't done anything so have nothing to post. You decide. Even if the site is mising latest news or recent events have a look in the gallery. You will probably find that this is updated a lot more regularly than the rest of the site. This is largely because it is far easier to upload pictures than to write lots of text. Lets just say I will express myself through my photography instead of writing, at least that is a my excuse :o) If you really are desperate for more, try looking at More of Rich |
Once again we have been missing updates on here for a while. To find out what has been going on you can view my Christmas letter: click here!

Well, that's that then. I can run 13.1 miles. Despite the efforts of TfL trying to stop me from getting to the start and the rain pouring down to slow me down I got around in 2 hours 39 mins 20 seconds. Although I would have liked to have done it faster I am still happy that I got around and can now say that I have done it. So what next then? I applied for the London marathon however was rejected this year so will have to wait until at least 2010 for that. In the meantime I want to try and get faster. I will start with 5k and 10k times but I would like to do another half marathon next February/March. This will probably in Reading. So look out for me on the running paths of West London as I'm not through with this running lark yet!

[18] 1 week until 1/2 marathon
It seems that the half marathon has come round extremely quickly. I'm not totally sure I am ready for it. The longest run that I have done so far has been 10miles. Hopefully the extra 3.1miles won't be too painful. This may not be true though as I have had a bad foot for the last week and a half. It seems my balance/flat footedness has caused me to put more strain on one foot than the other. Got some new trainers yesterday though so hopefully they will help. Also have a new garmin. This doesn't really help with preventing injuries but there is nothing like new toys!

Many of you will be shocked to hear that I have recently taken up running. Fairly long distance running too. On Sunday 5th October I will be running London's first half marathon: Run to the Beat. I hope to complete the course in two and a half hours. This isn't especially quick however considering this time last year I found it almost impossible to run 3.1 miles let alone 13.1 I am happy just getting round. Vicki will be running the race too. She will be doing it considerably faster than me but then again she can quite easily run this distance. It is nothing compared to the 26.2 miles she is used to!
